The firm's programme covers a host
of activities which include Organizational Development (OD); Planning,
Monitoring and Evaluation (PME); Integrated Financial management
/OD, E-Management Information System (E-MIS), Research and Policy
Analysis (RPA), and Training and Skills Development (TSD). Interventions
in these areas are tailored for donor agencies, faith-based organizations;
community-based organizations, country (local) and (foreign) international
non-governmental organizations. TAABCO believes in process oriented
holistic delivery of quality services which enables the client to
grow, learn and resolve issues, challenges and problems (a system-wide
approach). Hence, interaction with clients is carefully managed
and natured to ensure that a strengthened organization is achieved.
Development actors, organizations
and communities need to be strategic in managing change and familiar
with a broad range of organizational skills in order to be effective
and efficient in enhancing social transforming. Through OD, TAABCO
facilitates clients to: (a) decide the kind of organizational approach
best for their situation; (b) form long-term goals and plans; (c)
develop and sustain strategic leadership; and (d) take other actions
necessary to build strong effective and stable organizations.
TAABCO takes cognizance of the fact
that PME is today a “must do” among the development organizations
and institutions. A well articulated PME provides assurance that
activities are relevant to the needs and circumstances of the intended
beneficiaries; that the most effective strategies are employed;
and that the chances of achieving success are greatly enhanced.
To this end, this programme is designed to enhance clients (e.g.,
programme personnel, trainers, development professionals, etc.)
with an understanding of the concepts, steps and contexts of budgeting,
and PME. In addition, the programme furnishes the clients with the
appropriate skills for effective planning, monitoring and evaluation
and how to appropriately institutionalize PME into an organization.
The Integrated Financial Management/OD
(IFM/OD) interventions have a distinctly unique developmental approach.
TAABCO's interventions are designed with the needs of the development
sector in mind. These are, among others, focus on the promotion
of efficiency, resource management, internal and external accountability,
communication and the protection of assets. Reporting formats are
informed by careful assessment of the needs of stakeholders, leading
to the identification and configuration of appropriate software.
Objectivity, fairness and integrity in the finance functions are
promoted through the development of tailor-made policy and procedure
framework. Skills are provided through specially designed workshops
and hand-on, in-house training.
Increased requirements for accountability
have led to the embracement of Results Based Management (RBM). Emphasis
on effective programme, human resources and financial management
as well as administrative systems is increasingly gaining currency.
TAABCO's unique approach seeks to assist managers in focusing key
organizational functions and resources towards desired results.
TAABCO's consultants provide managers with an integrated tool that
assists the organization to focus on key performance indicators
at all levels and across functions. TAABCO also assists clients
to establish improved information frameworks for better decisions
that lead ultimately to greater programme effectiveness.
Research and Policy Analysis (RPA)
Research, when combined with policy
analysis and documentation forms one of the core functions at TAABCO.
This is because the Company exists to offer high quality consultancy
services to clients, first and foremost in the area of research,
and second, in other varied areas. Research is vital for increasing
the Company's organizational learning, and enhancing its efficiency
and effectiveness of work. Hence, the Research, Policy Analysis
and Documentation Unit of TAABCO has both a doer and support role.
In the doer role, the Unit staff undertakes regular and targeted
research and policy analysis, and documents these into research
reports and other organizational outputs, e.g., newsletters (for
internal and external sharing). The latter sharing is with the clients,
partners, and wider public. The research findings are meant to enhance
policy decisions.
